[edit] End Poverty

PROPOSAL: Citizens' Basic Income

End Poverty in the UK by having a CBI or Citizens' Basic Income, paid to every citizen, this would be set to 60% of the net median wage which is the international standard measurement for the poverty line. This would result in a CBI of about £9,000 per annum per citizen totalling £550bn or 40% of GDP. All benefit payments would be scrapped saving £150bn (12% of GDP) and a flat rate income tax introduced, set at 35% with zero allowance. To maintain other expenditure, green taxes would have to be introduced to raise another 10% of GDP. This would cover the cost of the CBI.

End Poverty in the rest of the World, once again with a CBI set to 60% of median income in each country.

[edit] Health Policy

PROPOSAL: End the private contracting of NHS hospital porters, cleaners and catering staff

The value of having staff with a personal stake in the wellbeing of their hospital would far outweigh the cost of bringing them in-house.

[edit] Governance of Britain

PROPOSAL: Referendum on Electoral Reform for the House of Commons

Following the publication of the Review of Electoral Systems, the government should now take forward the debate by allowing the voters to decide - by means of a national referendum - how their MPs ought to be elected.
